About Genesis
Genesis is about the beginning, how humans were formed and how sin came into the world, God’s plan, and the beginning of the implementation of that plan. Genesis talks about how God formed His bride (Israel), and how the Gospel was preached as a promise from one generation within the book to another. From Adam and Eve to Noah to Abraham, to Isaac and then to Jacob (Israel), out of whom came the 12 tribes. Genesis shows how the patriarchs tried to fully commit to their part in being faithful to God's covenant, and though they still all failed in various instances, God still used them.
Notes & Lessons
- ‘The blessing’ being referred to is way beyond material things and is the promise of Christ. When Isaac blessed Jacob and couldn't bless Esau it was because it was the blessing that chose who would have been a forefather of Christ
- The Bible characters are not for us to emulate because they were imperfect, they were just a reflection of who we are today and how God still used them despite those imperfections.
